Alexander Jan
Alexander Jan is a director in Arup’s City Economics team part of the Integrated City Planning practice. An economist by training from the LSE, Alex has some twenty five years of public and private sector experience. Alex recently led Arup’s work to help develop the Mayor of London’s 2050 long term infrastructure plan. He has worked with a number of local authorities including
Sheffield, Waltham Forest, Newham, Haringey, Hertfordshire, Camden, Westminster and the GLA on the economic and infrastructure challenges and opportunities they face. With the West End Partnership and central London Business Improvement
Districts Alex has been advising on the future of the West End and how it can benefit from the positive impacts that Crossrail can bring. More recently he has led Arup’s work to develop an economic vision for the Royal Docks.
Alex is an independent adviser to the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Delivery Board. He is an occasional writer on London, transport and devolution issues, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and a visiting lecturer at the LSE.
