Jonathan Akers Coyle

Jon is a chartered landscape architect, specialising in public realm and green space design throughout the South East region and beyond. He has worked in London and lived in Kent for the past 15 years. During this time, he has worked closely with public and private clients to establish award winning landscape designs across all sectors, including public realm, residential, education, commercial, infrastructure and energy. He has a particular interest in recomposing familiar spatial typologies and defining streetscape and public space standards.

Jon been responsible for a range of key projects within London and the South East region. In London he has designed three of the eight central London Crossrail urban realm schemes at Paddington, Tottenham Court Road and Woolwich. His public space designs include three of the largest new urban spaces in London at St Giles Circus, St Helens Square and at Aldgate. Jon has designed and delivered a series of new contemporary green squares, notably at Warrior Square Gardens in Southend and for Leicester Cathedral Gardens. He is a strong advocate of artistic collaboration and delivering spaces of real value and contribution. Further afield Jon has delivered the landscape setting to the National Welsh Assembly in Cardiff, and won international competitions, including the new Cultural District Waterfront Park in Abu Dhabi and a new Distillery estate expansion for The Macallan in Scotland.
