Peter Studdert

Peter is an independent adviser on urban planning and design based in Cambridge. He is Chair of the Quality Review Panel set up in 2012 to advise the London Legacy Development Corporation on new developments in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and adjoining neighbourhoods. He is an adviser to English Heritage and Design Council Cabe, and he also serves on design review panels covering Oxford, Hertfordshire and the East Midlands.

Peter is qualified as an architect as well as a town planner and has over 35 years experience in planning and design in local government, the last twenty years of which were at Director level in Cambridge. He played a leading role in developing the current growth strategy for the Cambridge Sub-region, as well as defining quality standards for the new neighbourhoods through the Cambridgeshire Quality Charter for Growth. He was responsible for initiating and shaping a number of major projects in Cambridge including the Accordia housing development which won the 2008 Stirling Prize. He is an Associate at Cambridge Architectural Research Ltd and a member of the Highbury Group for housing and planning research at the University of Westminster.
