Join our team – full time post for Design Advisor

Join a growing organisation at the forefront of promoting good design in the built environment.

We are the fastest-growing design advisory organisation in the country, working with planning authorities, the development sector and local communities. Working with us will broaden your knowledge, skills and networks throughout the design and development industry. Our work encompasses the full range of development and place-making projects from complex, high density mixed-use schemes, to public buildings and single private houses.

We are looking for a full-time Design Advisor to join the DSE team. The purpose of the role is to provide support to our Head of Design Advice with our programme of workshops, design reviews and events. We are looking for an enthusiastic built environment professional with at least 2 years’ experience in fields including architecture, urban design, landscape architecture and planning. To provide a balance of skills in our team we would particularly welcome applications from people with a planning qualification or a good understanding of the planning system. You will be helping us influence the quality of the built environment by:

▪ Managing design review meetings, working with our Panel of leading industry professionals
▪ Helping to deliver design advice and surgeries
▪ Assisting with the development and delivery of our design training programmes
▪ Helping to facilitate design workshops and other events

Our operational base is located in the Historic Dockyard in Chatham Kent. However, we fully support flexible working. Travel around the south east for events and meetings can be balanced by home working and London-based internal meetings, which means this job is open to people living in a wide range of locations.
