Richard Wilson

Richard is a planner and urban designer with 20 years local authority experience. For the last 5 years he has led the highly regarded Urban Design Service at the London Borough of Camden providing expertise to the local planning authority but also to the Council as highway authority, landowner and developer. Camden’s Community Investment Programme will deliver nearly 2000 new homes, including 850 affordable homes, as well as new schools, community facilities and improvements to parks, streets and spaces.

Richard previously led the urban design and conservation teams at Manchester and Hull where he helped establish the role and reputation of the Humber Design Review Panel. Prior to that he worked as part of Hampshire County Council’s award winning Property Services Department promoting and delivering high quality new development on Council owned land.

Richard is passionate about the high quality transformation and regeneration of cities and the positive and proactive role public sector planners and urban designers can play in that process.
